There are 2 NEW ways to submit a picture of your quilt:

1) You can email a photo of your quilt to [email protected] rather than print a 4”x6” copy of it, or

Also new this year is a “Save My Quilt a Spot” form, to be used if you are planning on entering a quilt but are not ready to fill out the Quilt Registration Form yet.  This will give us a heads-up on your plans, which will help us get a better idea of how many quilts may be in the show.

Door Prizes – If anyone would like to contribute an item for the door prizes, we are accepting sewing tools, notions, rulers, and patterns.  These items must be new, in unopened original packaging.  Contact Kathy Baker.

Silent Auction – We are looking for 20 items or baskets to raffle off to the highest bidder.  These do not have to be sewing related!  Think wine, coffee, spa, gift certificates, etc.  This is where Seaside’s circle members can contribute to the inspiration that is quilting.  Please remember to ask your favorite business if they would like to donate a gift certificate to a good cause and let them know the publicity factor involved with our quilt show.  We also need and would love donations of stand-alone items. Surprise us with your unique creativity!  Contact Pam Nelson and Margie Cameron.

Small Quilt Raffle – Do you have any orphan blocks? (Who doesn’t?!?)  Put a border or two on them, quilt, and Voilà! You have a small quilt for the raffle!  Perhaps you have some beautiful focus fabric.  Fussy cut a portion, border, quilt, and you have another small quilt.  If you have an embroidery machine, you probably have thousands of beautiful designs. Stitch one out and make that into another small quilt.  Hope these ideas give you the inspiration and desire to help us out by having the best Small Quilt Raffle ever!

Small quilts should not exceed 16″ x 16”.  Please also add a 2” sleeve on the back, and sign the quilt or make a label with your name on it.  We hope to receive 40 quilts to raffle off.  Raffle tickets are $1.00 each.  Contact Diana Whitson.

Quilt Show Programs: Every attendee will receive a program on admission.  The cost of printing the program is paid for by program ads.  The prices for the ads are:

  • $200 for full page ad
  • $100 for half page ad
  • $30 for business card-sized ad

Ask your hairdresser, dog groomer, favorite restaurant, or owner of your favorite shop.  $30 is inexpensive advertising in today’s world.  Contact Kathy Van Pelt.

Challenge Quilt

The SSPM Challenge for 2022 is to make a small quilt (at least 12” tall/wide, no more than 24” tall/wide) following the theme (“Kennedy Space Center – Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”) and the published rules and guidelines.  It should include a pieced quilt block that you’ve never made before (to challenge you to try something new), and should incorporate some space-related picture (fabric or photo)

The 2022 Challenge Quilts are due at our January 26, 2022 general meeting, before the meeting begins.  They should be turned in using a brown bag so that no one knows which quilt is which.  The membership will vote on the Challenge quilts during the meeting break.

The Challenge Quilts will be on display at the quilt show.  Ribbons will be attached to the winning quilts right before the Quilt Show.

Lectures and Demos will be held periodically during the Quilt Show.  Would you like to share something with the public for 30 minutes?  Contact Marjorie Mulla and Mary Nielsen.
